Walter “Bud” Altenburg, age 93, 62 year resident of Mount Prospect, passed away November 18, 2017. Beloved husband of 70 years of the late Lorraine K. Altenburg; loving father of Steven (Wanda) Altenburg, Douglas (Peg) Altenburg and Robin Berkheimer; cherished grandfather of eight; great grandfather of 19; great great grandfather of 3; dear brother of Donna Saewert and the late Gloria Forsberg.
Bud was a proud WWII veteran and a gold card member of Midwest Operating Engineers, Local 150. Bud and Lorraine were long time members of the Sunburst Corvette Club and active in several charities for people with special needs.
Visitation Monday November 27, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday November 28 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., (at Northwest Highway) Mt. Prospect, IL 60056.
Interment Ridgewood Cemetery.
